Fans of Saved by the Bell are very excited about the show getting a reboot on Peacock that features some of the original cast.
Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), AC Slater (Mario Lopez), Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani Thiessen) and Jessie Spano (Elizabeth Berkley) are all reunited in the series, while Lisa Turtle (Lark Voorhies) joins the gang via FaceTime.
Wondering about Screech? Well, last night's (November 25) premiere in the US saw a conversation between Jessie and Slater reveal that Samuel 'Screech' Powers (Dustin Diamond) is not featured in the show because he's residing at the International Space Station alongside his beloved robot Kevin.
While much of the original cast will reprise their roles for the reboot, which is set to premiere on NBC's streaming service Peacock on November 25, it will also see the introduction of a new batch of Bayside High students.
This will include Totah's character Lexi, a trans cheerleader – although her gender identity will not be the main focus of her arc throughout the series.
Speaking to GLAAD's Anthony Ramos ahead of the reboot's release, Totah opened up about the importance of bringing positive representation to the series, rather than focusing on negative aspects.
"Much of the time when it comes to trans representation, it is told through the lens of trans struggle, or portraying trans characters in a negative light," Totah said.
"Even the trans people that I've spoken to... are so excited about this, and just having those people in my life be happy about it means everything to me, because it's so needed and I'm so excited that we get to bring it to the forefront."
She added: "I hope we normalize acceptance of the trans community in our everyday lives."
